Some people feel that being honest is the best policy. Others believe that honesty is not the best policy. The thing is, honesty is the best thing no matter what the circumstance. Without honesty, everything will fall apart in a relationship.
Being honest can be painful and seem like it isn't worth it at all. It hurts the person who is being honest and it hurts the person who is hearing the honest truth. In the end, it is worth it.
Honesty is the true test on a relationship. It is how the two people choose to deal with the truth, both the enjoyable and heart-breaking, that affects the relationship. They could choose to approach the truth head on and talk about it, learn all the facts, cope with it together, and be stronger as a couple in the end. They could also choose to ignore it and let it destroy everything that they have shared and could share.
Being open and honest with each other is a huge part of building a successful relationship. It is my hope that my relationships are more like the first example than the second.
